Why is the Philippines left behind by our Asian neighbors? The Philippines was the richest Asian nation 50 years ago right?

Because of massive corruption by the govt. officials. Our country's decline started with Marcos regime.

yep. it became the system kaya laganap ang red tape, abuse of power/authority, graft, etc.... but yes, it was mismanaged.

yes high kasi sa time na iyon 2nd tayo to Japan in Asia pero nagdecline na afterwards dahil nga sa massive corruption. Hinde na nakabawi after that kasi ang mga sumunod na Presidente after Cory practice massive corruption too  Kaya ngayon nabaon na talaga tayo sa utang. Next to Marcos, GMA was the next of the most corrupt

maraming factor why we were left nehind ... i dont want to sound so religious but i think part of it is we just become hypocrite with our relationship to God... ne fear anymore... we say things and do otherwise...corruption are just a product of it

well that is human nature. but what can guard against it is that it always takes two to tango. even the other person succumbs to the temptation.....

I wish makahabol ulit ang pinas kasi ngayon second to the last na ata tayo. Last ang bangladesh. Wag naman sana na pati sila maunahan pa tayo
