Think about how Marcos make the Philippines as the "Most powerful country in Asia"!

even if Japan and other countries are more sure 100% to secure their nuclear plants, ibang usapan na pag tinamaan ng natural phenomenon like earthquakes and the like.

so, siguro naman malinaw na ang meaning ng safety and environmental issues tungkol sa pagclose ng Bataan Plant  ;D

Ipangalandakan niyo pa ang mga developed countries using this type of power source  :P kahit ang Japan walang magawa sa earthquake

Okay. We'll see if this is a warning to them or if their necessities can overcome that catastrophic warning.

^ It seems to be more political than just plain safety considerations.

Related post http://www.pinoyguyguide.com/forums/index.php?topic=2084.msg116624#msg116624 where I posted the safety features of a nuclear plant.

They say that nuclear plants are actually statistically safer than coal and diesel. There are actually more people who died of accidents related to coal and diesel plants. These are just few although more frequent but less reported. The environmental impact of coal and diesel related accidents (e.g. oil spill) are also comparable to radioactive damage from nuclear accidents.

Granted, the question is if the safety standards of the BNPP can withstand high-intensity quakes and tsunamis. And this being in the Philippines, ignorance, indolence, and mediocrity must also be taken into consideration.

Lanchie

Masyadong marming factors to consider.

The question would always be: Can we maintain a nuclear power plant safely?

marvinofthefaintsmile

Well, sana buhayin ulit. We all know that is a famous international brand.
