im not good at this.. but what i can say is that you must have something up your sleeves.
and at the end of the day, your goal in doing your negotiations is that your plan must end up in a win-win situation.

Lol that's a bad advice. Firstly you have to wait for the chance when the company lacks manpower. Then there's the risk. And even if the company did not let go of you immediately, they would have the idea that you have the tendency of leaving.

true. this has been the worst advice. its never safe to bluff. from a company's point of view, they can succumb to a few weeks but they can always get a replacement. nobody is indispensable.

they can just easily reward those who stuck it out with them especially during those times that they lacked manpower. also, the company would always see you as a person who is about to leave. further plans would not include you anymore...

of course it will. definitely, a person of authority would put a value on you - the fact that they hired you.

but relationships and "image" would always be tainted. too much angst would just fall back soon.
