FOOD RECIPE for PINOYS

I create this thread to share your special but simple-to-do recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even for merienda and desserts.

You can share your usual recipe for the day and even your own invented recipe  ;D

but please bear in mind that recipes that will be mentioned are here are healthy and can benefit to lose weight and not gain more cholesterol and not be obese

To start with, I'll share a coleslaw recipe (ala KFC). It's very easy  :D


INGREDIENTS:
8 cups finely diced Cabbage (about 1 head)
1/2 cup finely diced carrots
1 cup crushed pineapple
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup mayonnaise

DIRECTIONS:
1. Cabbage and carrots should be chopped into very fine pieces (about the size of a rice grain)
2. Combine all the ingredients and mix well.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving. (Overnight is highly recommended so that the flavours will be well blended.)

TUNA CABBAGE MEAL
(this is also very easy)

1 small can Hot and Spicy Century Tuna, drained
1/2 small cabbage

Sauté tuna.
Add cabbage.
Serve

If you want it more tasty, saute it with garlic and onions  ;D

TOFU BROCCOLI NOODLES

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup (150 g) of tofu
1 tablespoon of olive oil
200 g of cooked rice or vermicelli noodles (bihon, sotanghon)
1 egg
1 clove of garlic, minced
2 cups of broccoli, cut into small florets


DIRECTIONS:
Cook the noodles according to directions.
Heat 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil in a wok over medium fire
Add the egg and cooked noodles. Mix well and cook for two minutes.
Place the noodles on a serving platter and set aside.
Add the rest of the oil to the wok. Add the garlic and sauté until brown.
Add the tofu and brocolli
Mix well and let cook for 7 to 10 minutes.
Pour the tofu and broccoli on top of the noodles and serve immediately.

TOFU MUSHROOM CURRY

Ingredients:

1 block soft tofu (diced)
1 medium bell pepper (diced)
1 small diced carrot
1 small diced eggplant
1 small diced potato
1 small can button mushrooms (diced)
1 small diced onion
garlic (optional)
Japanese curry roux.

Directions:

1. Saute together garlic, onion,carrots, potatoes, onions,, red bell pepper, and eggplant. (set aside)

2. Heat 3 cups of water and add 2 - 3 cubes of Japanese curry roux. Stir often so the roux doesn't stick. Add ground black pepper and a dash of sugar to taste.

3. Add the cubed soft tofu in the curry sauce and eventually combine the sauteed veggies in the mixture.

4. Serve hot with brown rice or crusty bread.

CHOCOLATE BANANA CAKE


3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup of skim milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of plain yogurt
1 banana
1 1/3 cup of flour
1 sachet (2 teaspoons) of instant yeast
1/2 teaspoon of rum


Preheat the oven to 350 ° F.
Heat the milk and cocoa together.
Whisk together the eggs and sugar. Add the yogurt, rum, and cocoa-milk mixture and mix until combined. Add the flour and yeast, and combine, do not overbeat.
Pour half of the mixture in a lightly greased or non-stick pan. Place the banana slices, and pour the rest on top.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until the middle of the cake is cooked.
