So ngayon ko lang nalaman na nagiging brittle pala ang teeth pag ginagamitan ng kung ano anong kemikal bukod sa toothpaste.

Thanks soshiro for the info.

If in general, the yellower the shade, the higher the mineral content, and that without maintenance our teeth go back to become yellowish after bleaching which is not permanent, does that mean that our teeth can "regenerate" its mineral content?

Somewhat related, I've read somewhere that there are cases where the teeth are able to regenerate or grow back from cavities, due to diet or something (fluoride or calcium?). Is this true?

magagalit si tooth fairy pag mababa quality ng ngipin..

A yellower shade does not necessarily mean your teeth have more minerals.  Genetics also plays a role in determining the shade of your teeth, i mean, if you have whiter teeth than some people, as long as there was no disturbance in its development or you haven't had them bleached, then they're just as strong as yellowish teeth of other people.

"Regeneration/regenrate" may not be the best term to describe it. "Remineralization/remineralize" is more accurate. Fluoride helps A LOT in PREVENTING tooth decay, but once decay starts, there's no stopping it.  Fluoride may help DELAY its progression but ultimately, you need to have the cavity filled.

Now, REGENERATION is a different topic altogether. Some research has been done (not sure if it's still being done now...) where in the scientists were able to make new teeth.  I guess you've seen pictures of how some scientists were able to grow an ear form the  back of a lab rat, so the same concept applies (i guess).  Major breakthrough ito kung totoo :)

I think its more possible to create teeth from stemcells than anything else.
Kung Ovaries nga gumagawa ng ngipin eh .... (Benign Ovarian Cystic Teratoma)

Kilo: That's soooo cool! :) (Although, probably not for the person with it - benign ovarian cystic teratoma - geek mode ON) Any documented cases here in PH?

^ Di nga? Parang movie na "The Teeth" ba yun? May ipin sa loob? hehe

Yung bagong toothpaste ng colgate. Optic white ba yun, mukhang effective naman. Kakangalay nga lang magbrush ng teeth. 2 minutes kasi haha.  ;D

^ Nakakangalay nga.  Dentista na ako, nangangalay din ako sa 2 mins na brushing. Hassle din minsan lalo na pag nagmamadali ka sa umaga to go to work.  Things that might help: listen to/sing (in your head) your favorite song na 2 mins lang while brushing or switch to an electric toothbrush.
