No. When there's a life there is still hope. If we feel that way, that hopeless feeling, wala na talagang mangyayari sa atin. I know this could not be solve in a day, it takes time but not another 100 years ;D bka masurprise na lang tayo within 6 years malaki na ang progress ng pinas :D
Of course not. We are still better off than a lot of other countries. Check out

The Philippines is 51st by the way.
it is never hopeless.. anybody can hope anytime. its free and everywhere. last time i checked, there is still a definition of the words miracle, change and improvement.
medyo nearing improbable na nga lang ang Pinas with our current systems and situations.

^ and population control
never kong naisip na hopeless case na ang pinas... tao minsan ang nag gigive-up
its really up to us to make it work... mahirap yatang maging dayuhan sa ibang bayan.... saludo ko sa mga pinoy who choose to stay here inspite of....whatever reasons
people who thinks and says na hopeless na ang Pinas.. are actually the people na hopeless na!

Kaya i don't expect better change. It's simply hopeless. Kawawang pilipinas.

thank you for being pessimistic. ganyan talaga.
ako... optimistic pa rin ako...
I think one good man alone can make this country better (although I don't really know who that man or woman is)
call me illogical, but if one bad apple can make a basket of apples bad, then a good apple can make a basket of bad apples better...
same here.
it takes two to tango.
for me, the most effective way to deal with this crisis is to remove all the people in the Philippines (either by an atomic bomb or whatever methods of super mass killing) and fill the land with just one race. it has already become too complicated to be resolved.
in that way, Philippines will be renewed, it doesn't have our blood anymore.
patay lang ang hopeless dude... sorry to disagree with your insights....just have faith...thats the only way

I agree. As long as there is still an opportunity for change, the Philippines is redeemable.
so paano yun? slowly lang ang pagchange ng pilipinas? saan kaya uumpisa? doon pa lang, marami ng problema. eh kung sa rh bill nga ang dami na ng problema (which i think could be part of the solution sa crisis)...

ganito na lang bro, if you think you still have hope as a Filipino, then there must still be hope for the Philippines as a whole. :-)

how can you still have hope despite all these crises guys?
It will be worthless if everyone thinks it's hopeless.
I think it's not enough to just have hope or faith. Never mind other people, we just have to do what we can in our own ways. We cannot influence everything, but we can work on things that we have influence on!
Just ask yourself if you want to be a part of the problem or a part of the solution.
carpediem, how'd you know if your part of the problem or part of the solution? ;D

i am with you carpediem. hindi na naman talaga dapat hintayin pang may kumilos na iba.. dapat talaga sa ating sarili simulan natin yung pagbabago na nais natin.

Never kong tatanggapin na hopeless na ang Pilipinas...Kasi para ko na ring sinabing hopeless ang mga Pilipino and I am part of them. Marami naman tayong magagawa for a change sa country natin eh. What we need is to start it within ourselves. :)
anong meron dito???
kayo na dapat nakakaalam. biglang naiba yung usapan.
habang may hininga, may pag-asa!
ang tanong, hinihinga ba ang pag-asa? haha!
anayway, seriously, i am already getting fed up with that line "habang may hininga, may pag-asa..."
para kasing too idealistic
who says we don't need idealism? :-)
anyway, janjan, only the dead don't hope. hehehe!
yes, we as a person should not lose hope. it is our way for survival and it is one of our distinguishing identities from the dead. however, what really is my point that whenever a person tries to save his little light of hope on a candle from the blazing attacks of a strong wind, there is a strong chance that even though he is successful about that, he may not survive as to what is fast approaching- a strong typhoon that even its gustiness urges for distraction.
in connection, what i mean is that, we may not have been through the very verge of our crisis. we may experience more difficult times starting tomorrow with what is the current situation of the Philippines. people here in the country have become so self-preserved, perhaps they have no choice due to some instances, that differentiation of this bad characteristics from a true blue filipino culture is very difficult.
at this point, i can still say that the Philippines is in a hopeless case if this continues...
hinde hopeless ang buong bansa. Ang hopeless case ay yung corruption, traffic, officials in the govt, peace & order, etc, etc ;D
wouldn't that count as part of the country's case?

hi janjan! :-) exactly, it just but a PART of the country's state. a nation is not defined by its ills and cancers, but rather, by its people, culture, politics, religiosity, etc. A conglomeration of every contributory factor to simply say it.

but isn't hope intangible itself? when you realize hope, it would not be hope anymore. fulfillment? achievement? success? name whatever you want to call it. but hope? it is a drive. it is a ray of light in a dark and gloomy room. the presence of hopeful Filipinos would not make the Philippines hopeless. :-)
hallelujah ctan.... hands up
It is not enough to just have hope however. There must also be action. Hoping just for the sake of not being hopeless is pitiful.

I somewhat agree with this carpediem. A drive not put into action is really pathetic. However, I would have to commend those who individually hope for the Philippines. It is a good start. And if hope is genuine, it will definitely translate into positive action. :-)
hopeless are for those who do not dream anymore that someday it will be better
hopeless are for those who have no faith
hopeless are for those who don't trust
