Di naman. Mag 3 years this August. Matagal na rin.
Btw, nurse pala ako sa cebu. :)
i will choose schedule. kung anong oras ko gusto mag work kahit mababa ang pay.
Ok naman ang sked ko basta lang nasa office ako during the important hours of the day (mga 10-4) kaya dahil dito ang gusto ko na ay salary.
i'm in favor of day-shift, been a morning person since schooling days :)
i'm a bit lucky to have both, but i hate my job. lol.

naku hirap pumili, pag naghahanap kasi ako ng work pareho ko sila kinokonsider. salary and work schedule. 8 hours a day 5 days a week morning shift tapos mataas ang sahod :D
Right now. Schedule.

^ +1 to this. eto ang d best option. morning shift na mataas ang sahod, idagdag pa na dapat masya ka din sa work mo ;D
eh shempre ideal yan. kaya nga pinapapili ka kung salary or schedule. in reality, you do not ALWAYS have the best of both worlds.
sad but true, sh!t happens.
sige na nga pipili na ako, of the two, I prefer salary ;D
practical people will choose salary
rich people will choose schedule
ako both, schedule and salary... demanding kasi ako... hahaha! =)
High salary. Madali na mag adjust sa schedule basta well compensated.
slARY and schedule!! nakuwa ko both..
Salary matters! schedule? pwede naman iresched yan. haha
how about career growth? shouldn't that be important too? i am with the same company for 7 years, salary and schedule are not an issue, but there is practically no career growth. ;(

it's a phase that we all pass, well at least in my case..
when i started working, i was aiming to make myself grow in my chosen profession.
then i performed well, and i was given critical projects with insane deadlines.
i was so caught up with pleasing everyone that i barely had time to rest and relax.
i realized a few years after the importance of having a healthy work schedule.
i shifted my focus then on having a better work schedule.. reduced my all-nighters and weekends in the lab.
and now, seeing in the near future that i wanted to raise my own family, the $$$ matter.
so going back, i guess my answer to the question depends on which phase you are in now in your life..
just my thoughts.. 8)
High salary! Sanay ako panggabi at masarap night shift wala masyado amo na nagkalat.
Maging may-ari ng business.
So makokontrol mo parehong pera at schedule.
^^ that idea had been also in my mind lately. though i find it hard kung saang niche mag nenegosyo. hehe

wala naman kasing negosyo na madali lalo na pag nagsisimula pa lang. the first step is always the hardest.
negosyo..? ok control mo lahat both sched and money, but grabe ang stress.lol minsan sabihin mo rin na sana nag work na lang ako sa ibang company. pero time wise hawak mo, tapos pamilya mo, kung gustuhin mo may oras ka rin, huwag lang dumating ang mga sakit sa ulo na empleyado mo. lol
mahirap magnegosyo no. 24/7 ka on call. problema mo mula pinakamaliit hanggang sa lahat ng major decisions.
noon salary kasi sa BPO ako for two years then got retrenched and decided to shift industry became schedule with 8-5 shift weekends off but with lower salary for three years now... thinking of career growth para tumaas naman salary at the same time maintain ang schedule...
career growth pa rin vs the two.
Personally, schedule is something i can adjust to, meanwhile salary is negotiable as long naman na ung offer is sustainable to my basic needs.
At kung magaling ka talaga promotins would be inevitable.
SWELDO.
I came to a point that schedule is important moreso, when you are getting older. Because this is the time you will feel more vulnerable in stress working graveyard. I've worked for 10 years in BPO in a graveyard shift, it's rewarding in terms of salary but pain in health. When your young go for it but make sure you have master plan to change career later on.

guys, wag kayong papayag sa "sapat na salary". dont be comfortable. or yung mga tipong "as long as it addresses my basic needs".
Walang masama na mag-dream at maging mayaman. those kinds of mentality will really limit your capabilities. time to wake-up.
i can help you. dont be complacent.

Sa mga gipit ngayon sa pera, my elder sister who is working sa BPO tried this loan service. They cater Salary Loan and even process it hassle-free. Try LoanSolutions.PH (http://loansolutions.ph), according to my ate, maganda daw process dito. Their agent are very friendly, handle na handle ka until you get approved. :)

sabi nila, life can be divided into 4 quadrants as a measure for success/happiness/satisfaction.
1 - money
2 - career/success
3 - relationships/love life
4 - health
salary falls under money.
on the other hand, schedule covers all. medyo unfair if im basing it on the quadrant. but that is my basis for choosing schedule. It can trigger satisfaction/happiness in many ways.
#lifecoach
Dahil single pa ako ngayon, pera pera muna.

High Salary but working at night Vs. Low Salary working at day-shift

Wealth does not come from your bank account, wealth comes from the depth of your heart. What you really want is happiness. You might believe that a fat bank account will get you there, but that's false. Happy people are happy rich or poor, unhappy people are unhappy rich or poor. Money simply masks your real being by giving you activities to occupy your mind. Don't fool yourself, recession or not, your true wealth comes from your heart and is always only there.
Happiness is the main factor to consider here.
I have a low compensation rate in the office right now and rendering working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (in the average run). My compensation is not that really enough to cover up all my financial obligations, due and demandable but nevertheless I am happy with my work for having the best luck in my work.
Before, there were company that offers a high compensation rate but I rejected the offer simply because I know that I will not be happy with it and need to sacrifice most of my time since I prefer spending my TIME with people special and close to my heart than working hard just for money. I am not a slave of money but merely money is my slave. That's where my happiness is.
Some of my friends are earning 3x higher than my compensation but almost 50% of them are saying that they are really tired of their work because of the schedules (most of them are working late night) and really wanted to quit their job and to look for a new job that will give them "time-freedom" to enjoy.
But still, some of them are happy even if they are working late nights because they are satisfied with the compensation that they are receiving from their office.
As you see, it is a matter of preference of what happiness really means to you. Just remember, money is everywhere but your time is very limited so choose wisely in dealing with your happiness in life.
Time is limited, remember that.
That's a nice way of putting it. At the end of the day the question is, "Masaya ka ba?"
Quote from: Lanchie on September 05, 2014, 09:30:07 PM

Exactly :)
^ i do not agree, neither do i disagree.
happiness is a good "measure" but it can never be quantified.
Ako rin, hihirit sa iyo, yung totoo, hindi ka rin ba nainggit sa iba mong friends who earned 3X more? isnt it a coping mechanism to kinda justify what you are feeling.
for me, i never get contented. my personal take on that is its your choice to be "comfortable" with what you have. but you can definitely earn more but of course, getting there will take up much of your time and energy.
That's absolutely true. Same as happiness being subjective.
Some people do enjoy have a relatively smaller income and enjoying the "extra" time to themselves. While some are more competitive and have a burning desire to climb up that corporate ladder.
So going back to where we started, the question "Masaya ka ba?" (Are you happy?) is in reference to what fulfills you. If it's a good title, high pay and loads of responsibilities, then at the end of the day you are happy. But that also does not give us the right to question other people's perception of their happiness, right? :-)

Ako high salary naman and ok schedule. After 8 hrs., iwan na lahat sa office. I can earn more pero I choose to stay kasi alam kong di ko maeenjoy yung kung anong schedule meron ako ngayon dun sa ibang high paying companies. Sama mo pa yung time mo pagpeprepare pumasok plus travel time. Work is created for man not the other way around. Salary or Schedule, answer is both dapat iconsider.

di ba pwede both?
Salary. Pag mayaman na, marami nang time.
pwede naman both.

Like for me, I'm indeed happy simply because I have all the luxury of time in the world and all the pleasure it can give me even if I am earning low amount of money. :)
