It's interesting, based on the replies, that most of you are repulsed by the idea even if the action itself has nothing sexual to it.

we have gone a long way because you were probing on answers, kept on asking why. On my part, i was trying to be a sociologist in giving you a top-of-mind reason why people or Filipinos for this matter are "shy" to show off or "compare" with other people or family members.
