^kaya binawian tayo dun sa tatlong Pinoy na ibibitay.

I'll just take that as your personal opinion, however baseless it is.

of course, its my personal opinion, isn't it obvious?

No

^ Oh yeah! Ngayon ko lang napansin!!! </sarcasm>

At first it was due to Spratlys. Now it is because of the HK hostage that's why they will execute the three Pinoys. And you speak as if it's a fact. To think you work for a media company. Oh, maybe that's already the opinion of the company. lol

judE_Law

^that's your opinion, and i respect it. ;D

judE_Law

so why do they have to postponed it for a month kung bibitayin rin pala? that's one question na dapat sagutin.. sabi nila for humanitarian reasons.. helloo? humanitarian reasons eh di dapat ibinagay na sa tin yung ulo ng tatlong Pilipino. inuulit ko, opinyon ko lang po ito.

carpediem

^ Why not? You're like saying, why give drugs to a cancer patient to let him live for another month, when the patient will still die of cancer in the end.

Kapag di naman pinostpone yung execution, I imagine kung anu-ano naman ang mga sasabihin ng iba, like Chinese are heartless, that their communist government is evil etc.

Well of course we do not know anything that actually transpired between the negotiations of Binay and the Chinese government.

judE_Law

^that's what i'm trying to point out.. mayroong negosasyong nangyayari na hindi natin alam.. bakit hindi isapubliko, since interes din naman ng bansa at ng publiko ang nakataya diba? kaya ba itinuloy ang bitay dahil hindi nagkasundo sa 'negosasyon'?
you know you can't stop the people from speculating regarding this matter.. if you don't want the public to speculate, be TRANSPARENT!

carpediem

^ and the negotiation can be as plain and simple as just to postpone the execution, to have more investigations on their crime, and to let their families have time to see them and talk to them

the problem with our culture is we like gossips. we like to attribute more meaning to something to make it more controversial.

case in point, some anti-RH people accuse the authors of the bill with hidden agenda. they just can't take the bill plainly as how it is written.

Unilever Raises the Bar: Can "Willing Willie" (and the Philippine Media) Reinvent Itself?

A string of pullouts by major ad sponsors of Willing Willie was followed by a two-week moratorium for the airing of the program. Jollibee was first to pull out, followed by Procter & Gamble Philippines, Del Monte Pacific Ltd, CDO Foodsphere, Cebuana Lhuillier.

Differentiating even further -  Inquirer reported that Unilever Philippines

has also decided to temporarily suspend ad placements in the show effective April 11, but clarified that the move would cover "all reality-based live game shows across all networks. This measure will be in place until we observe stricter and objective self-regulatory guidelines across networks and proper enforcement by the relevant government agencies of existing content regulations," Unilever said in a statement.

By doing what it did, Unilever did the country a favor. By putting the power of its brand behind a value that echoes across demographic segments, Unilever increased brand awareness, brand retention, and brand loyalty. How so? Let me put it this way – if a company is conscious of and stands up for its corporate values – doesn't that give you confidence about the the same focus and effort being put behind its product offerings? It becomes a company whose values resonate with yours – and that's how companies gain customers for life.

Oftentimes, companies focus on gaining new customers  – and in the process forget to keep its existing customers. In some instances pulling out of a market may be a strategic decision. In some instances, companies lose by default due to attrition. In a world that is increasingly built on social relationships – fortunes can be made or lost in a flash.

Alienating an existing customer can snowball – and in a tight economy, customer retention is priority no. 1. As pointed out in an article on USA Today – Make customer retention priority No. 1

"Whether you call it customer retention, account management, relationship management, or just staying in touch, developing a strategy so that you don't lose the customers or clients you have is vital to the success of any business — especially now.

First, remember it's more expensive to acquire a customer than to retain a customer one. And your past customers are the ones who are most likely to be future purchasers. They've already shown they want and like your products or services and are willing to pay.

This economy makes customer retention strategies even more important because customer loyalty is weakened. Whether you sell b-to-b (business to business) or b-to-c (business to consumer), your customers are going over their budgets carefully; they're looking for alternatives. And with the pace of technological change and more ways to communicate (blogs, Twitter, Facebook), they're even more likely to be more exposed to your competitors."

A self-imposed time-out will give Willie and his production team the opportunity to re-evaluate, re-calibrate, and re-engineer its programming. It can also be a time for professional growth and roll out a wiser Willie – more mature, responsible, compassionate, hilarious, irreverent, creative, pushing the envelope – and still remain a decent human being.

Willing Willie: The Proverbial Tip of The Iceberg

While Willie Revillame comes to terms on why showing a child dancing as a macho dancer on noontime is wrong and not entertaining, it brings a renewed focus on the industry as a whole. Switching the remote during lunch time will take the cable-less masses from one crap to another – good luck with your remote. Thus, the call of Willie Revillame's lawyer for the MTRCB probe to cover all TV programs is timely

The lawyer of TV host Willie Revillame on Friday called for the expansion of the inquiry of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) into his client's purported child abuse "to cover all TV programs with children and minors, whether as performers or game show contestants.

"If the MTRCB is to be truly objective and fair and wants to uplift the standards of the local television industry, it should conduct an industry-wide probe rather than just focus on 'Willing Willie,'" Leonard de Vera said in a statement.

De Vera cited the noontime ABS-CBN program "Showtime," which, he said, had featured children and minors "gyrating in age-inappropriate attire" with no one protesting.

Lack of Viewing Choices – and Programming is embedded in the Constitution

While it stands to reason that a company will respond to the demand of its market, specially in a closed system such as the Philippines. As far as media participation by foreigners is concerned – the Constitution prohibits it.

Philippine Constitution: Article XVI – General Provisions

"Section 11. (1) The ownership and management of mass media shall be limited to citizens of the Philippines, or to corporations, cooperatives or associations, wholly-owned and managed by such citizens.

Thus companies like Disney, Fox, CBS, Al Jazeera, Nat Geo, Comedy Central  which have wider programming – and which can provide better job compensation and programming than ABS-CBN, TV5, or GMA7 – without getting young Filipino children to gyrate and what not – are kept at bay.

Who needs foreign perverts to corrupt the minds of Filipino children – Filipinos and Philippine Media are already doing a darn good job – and we Pinoys are such suckers.

what 'lever did was risky. but it looks like it is headed for the better direction. even WR mentioned that "unilever was fair..."

angelo

maiba lang ako.
do you think that ABSCBN has a fault in allegedly "spoiling" WR that he became too arrogant now?
or talagang walang character at panget talaga ugali ni WR?
