Na-invite lang po ako sa wedding. Ano ba kadalasan isinusuot pag pupunta sa kasalan?

Di ko kasi alam ang isusuot. Pang 2 times ko palang pupunta sa wedding. :'(

please give more details about the wedding. in strictest sense it all depends when and where it will be held. for example:
1. morning/afternoon @ the beach/garden wedding - you can wear light weight fabric such as a casual linen suit.
2. evening @ a hotel - since pilipinas naman, tanong mo sa groom kung anong suot nya. kung barong, mag-barong ka na rin and wear white camisa de chino NOT the same color nung motif/theme. kung coat and tie, then wear a navy suit... in strictest sense formal wear = white tie/tailcoat.... informal pa na papatak ang tuxedo aka black tie. then business ang regular na suit nakikita natin which is still pwede naman unless specified as formal attire. on this case you can't go wrong with the barong ;)

bottomline, pinakamaigi is to ask the groom kung anong suot nya at kung anong plan ng bride regarding attire. kung di naman strict sa isusuot you can at least wear a long sleeve shirt, dress pants and decent footwear.

you're the gpbest hiei :) correct, you have to consider the place and time. ako usually coat and tie or barong kasi yun ang required outfit samin ng ikakasal. :) pero pag ordinary wedding lang like hindi naman sobrang formal, you can wear slacks and longsleeves.. that's the safest outfit i guess kasi you can fold nmn the sleeves to look a little casual if feeling mo overdressed ka s crowd. mas ok ang overdressed kesa underdressed kasi pag overdressed ka pwede ka magtanggal ng colat or tie then fold the sleeves. pero if you are underdressed, wala ka na magagawa unless last minute may makuha ka pa n coat or tie.

another suggestion, better ask kung ano ang motif kasi bka kakulay ng outfit mo ung table cloth. at the same time ask mo din ang color ng uniform ng waiters. :)

@hiei @vittoluis thanks sa mga sagot nyo. Sobrang informative.

I always wear white polo shirt, pinaka safe kasi yun sa any motiff ng kasal. i just wear dark black jeans. Then i bring a plain cardigan(if biglang alanganin ang suot). Naexperienced ko kasi umattend sa wedding and it turned out na over dressed ako, i looked funny kasi i never thought na iba na pala ang dating ko, i grew in spain kasi na pag formal occasion e formal, so lesson learned. go in between formal and casual equals safe!

arkin

better ask ung nag-invite. saka wag masyadong bongga ang suot mo. baka masapawan mo ung ikakasal...

hiei

vitoluis,
thanks:) tama its better to be overdressed as a sign of respect na rin na mahalaga ang wedding na attend mo.

nosreme,
you' re welcome. oks lang magtanong matutuwa pa nga kaibigan mo kasi pinaghahandaan at binibigyan mo ng importance ang wedding nya.
forgot to mention na i attended once a wedding na ako lang naka short sleeve polo shirt, jeans and boatshoes. kasi lahat either suit e naka barong.... as in nakakahiya talga at i said to myself that'll be the last time it'll happen. btw don't limit yourself to be playful rin :) everytime  na may chance na maka suot ng suit, i wear my sneakers either low or hightop hehehe but make sure you have the right and properly fitting suit for it.

usually naman nakaindicate sa wedding invitation kung anong attire ang kailangan suotin. ako i usually follow the dress code na nilagay sa invitation. like kung kailangan ko magbarong, i wear barong. kung kailangan coat and tie, eh di yun ang suotin ko. basta kung ano sabi sa invitation yun ang susuotin ko. kakainis lang pagdating mo dun, kaw lang sumunod sa dress code maliban sa entourage. lol.

Agree ako kay rowelle24. Kung normal na pilipinong kasalan and bisita lang naman, i would also wear a crisp white buttondown longsleeve polo. With dark indigo jeans, brown leather belt and matching brown leather lace-up shoes (brogue will be best). Very good idea din yung baon na cardigan to dress it up as necessary; make it a dark grey color for versatility. Or bring a sportcoat (manipis na cotton blazer) if you have one. Dont forget the dress watch--steel or leather. That way it's easy to dress everything up or down

Klutz

hi! are there any other way to style a barong? i find it too plain if i wear one >.<

and when should i wear the chinese collar? usual collar?

joshgroban

it all depends kung ano bagay sayo at motiff ng wedding...baka mamya ikaw lang nakabarong tapos the rest coat hehe...
