To the Fashion Freaks (I know who you are!)
I have a party to go to in a month's time that we're organizing. It is huge company wide event and I want to look great. The crowd is basically full of nice looking people who can afford some slight luxuries. And yes, everyone is getting their gear on.

I want a strong conservative look that matches in the late 20s age group. It doesn't look yuppie and doesn't look old fashioned. I want to stand out enough that people would like to take pictures. I dont want bright colors but I don't want to look dull either. Red, Brown, Black, Blue, Dark Purple, Blues, Greens are okay. Leather or shine is not preferred. Preppie look is okay but I'd want to go past that.

My build is in the middle to slightly heavy set and I'm broad shouldered. I don't want to look thin. My Budget is in the middle to upper end.

I need some ideas. Pictures would greatly help.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Lanchie

I think you have to consider several things first like the theme and what's comfortable for you.

Broad shoulders are good since mas maganda ung bagsak ng damit sa katawan even if you're a heavy set. (pahingi naman ng shoulders! hahah)

I was sporting this look before:

It's simple but classy. Always try to look the effortless effort. ung parang di ka naman nageffort masyado pero sapat na sapat lang lagi.

If you want feel casual but, get a really good and crisp shite dress shirt and lose the tie.

If you want to feel more casual, you can roll up the sleeves.

Thank for the tip!
I actually do have coat and tie but I was thinking of going with a checkered red and white long sleeves with black coat na walang tie.

take note of a good colar structure

Parang 0.5x0.5cm small squares na red, navy blue, white shirt siya from Marks and Spencer.

Although I'm thinking that vs long sleeves na Dark blue and black longitudinal stripes.

first off... is it formal or casual? if it's a formal event, i'll stick to either a proper tux or barong. otherwise, i'd wear a light weight suit + plaid with smaller square like you posted + knit tie and for the rebel yell = stripe socks + sneakers or thick soled brogues.

grey suit + plaid shirt + knit tie + brogues... shameless plug, suit is for sale :) kaso wala ng mag-uuwi sa pinas :(

kung gusto mo to be comfy and move freely... can't beat running shoes with a suit hehe inspired from valentino runway where trend from avant garde designers is geared towards track shoes.

similar event where most of the attendees were from the movers and shakers of our country... expected na all the guys be wearing their dress shoes, i opted the opposite and wore my hightops as statement to F@$# off!  ;D

inspirations...
from a cool acne employee wearing prada creeper brogues + raf simon suit

valentino camo track shoes + suit

from missoni ss12... i wore the same missoni x auckland racer pero darker cw, btw even the tie matches the sneaks iconic missoni pattern

lanvin 2007... the hightop who springboarded the hightop + suit ensemble.

Great suit Hiei:) Nakasira lang yung shoes. I wish to wear something like this, yung tamang cut para sa akin. Maluwag kasi yung nasusuot ko kapag pormalan ang peg eh

Walang stated pero definitely hinde formal po sir hiei.
Most of us will go semi-casual

Thanks for the input, lemme digest it first haha

salamat, yup, the shoes are not everyone's cup of tea :) i have my dress shoes pero stopped wearing them with suit kasi i find it boring... love pushing the envelop.
as long as your suit's shoulder fits... tailor or anyone na magaling mag-alter ng damit can do the same thing. actually, i find it easier to instruct ang dry cleaner alteration peeps than my dad's tailor sa pinas.... minsan kasi mga old school tailors have their own idea how a suit should fit and di kami nagkakasundo hehe

btw i have my misses too noong nagstart pa lang ako mag-suot ng suit... kaya kasama na rin ito sa mga binenbenta ko hehe
ang noon :)
